Salary

The typical annual salary range for this position is $160,000.00 USD to $200,000.00 USD. Salary will be based on current qualifications, directly related experience, geographic location, and possible contractual requirements which could fall outside of this range.

 

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Shall have at least eight (8) years’ experience in DevOps development/engineering such as installing and configuring software; managing servers, networks, and technology tools; monitoring and maintaining systems for required levels of security, performance, and accreditation; and troubleshooting issues and outages
  • Shall have at least eight (8) years’ experience in DevOps technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, ELK
  • Shall have at least eight (8) years’ experience in scripting such as Terraform, Ansible
  • Shall have familiarity with developing DevOps for Microsoft Windows or UNIX/Linux/Centos family of operating systems
  • Shall understand technical writing and have familiarity with technical documents in support of a software development project
  • Efforts will focus on DevOps engineering of a modernization effort to converge NSA’s authoring, dissemination, and other supporting tools
  • Deploying applications; installing and configuring complex software; managing network servers and technology tools; monitoring and maintaining the system for required levels of performance; and troubleshooting issues and outages
  • Candidates will be required to work a rotating pager schedule for emergency 24/7 call-in support as required (roughly one week out of every 4-6 weeks)
  • Staff may charge 4 additional hours for the week they are on call in addition to hours worked
  • Work location is a combination of 135 National Business Parkway, Annapolis Junction, MD and up to 1 day per week of telework as project tasking allows

 

Qualifications

Qualifications / Required technical skills include experience with:

  • Linux
  • AWS, MASH, and VMs
  • Docker Swarm
  • Deployments of distributed web applications (e.g. GitLab CI/CD)
  • Terraform scripting and VM provisioning
  • Ansible scripting and development
  • Thorough understanding of Docker & Docker Compose container technology
  • Git

Desired Experience / technical skills include experience with:

  • Python scripting and development
  • NiFi maintenance and configuration
  • Elasticsearch maintenance and configuration
  • Java / Spring Boot (troubleshooting error logs)
  • HAProxy
  • MongoDB

EDUCATION

Degree:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

 

Allowable Substitution:

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university may be substituted for four (4) years of DevOps experience.
  • A Master’s degree can be substituted for two (2) years’ experience.

 

CLEARANCE

  • Top secret.
  • We cannot accept CCA candidates for this position, and polygraphs must have been completed within the last seven years.

Condition of Employment:  Applicant must have an active Top Secret Clearance.
