Database Administrator

BAI, a defense contractor, is seeking a Database Administrator with 3+ years of experience to provide database administration support for the sustainment, modernization, and cyber compliance of Oracle and Microsoft Structured Query Language (SQL) database environments for our expanding workforce at Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake in Ridgecrest, CA. Salary

The typical annual salary range for this position is $80,000 USD to $125,000.00 USD. Salary will be based on current qualifications, directly related experience, geographic location, and possible contractual requirements which could fall outside of this range.

• Administer, test, and implement computer databases, applying knowledge of database management systems
• Coordinate changes to computer databases
• Identify, investigate, and resolve database performance issues, database capacity, and database scalability
• May plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard computer databases
• Ensure maximum up time of 99% for databases by proactive monitoring and troubleshooting
• Ensure backup and recovery procedures are in place
• Support cloud technology, including analyzing the existing environment for suitability and scalability; participating in the acquisition of design tools; and managing cloud architecture, and migration and optimization activities
• Support process improvement activities by providing feedback or suggestions for improvement to systems, tools, processes, and procedures to promote consistency across processes
• Typically performs all functional duties independently

• Three to ten years of experience as defined in the Functional Description
• Requires expert knowledge of the Oracle Database and Microsoft SQL Server capabilities
• Shall meet the security and training requirements identified in SECNAV M-5239.2, Department of the Navy Cyberspace Information Technology and Cybersecurity Workforce Management and Qualification Manual for privileged access to DoD IT systems

EDUCATION

Degree: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a technical equivalent

Allowable Substitution: Four years of additional relevant work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree. An Associate degree plus two years of additional relevant work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.

CLEARANCE

Condition of Employment:  Applicant must have an active DoD Secret Clearance. The applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
