Overview

BAI, a defense contractor, is seeking a Senior Database Administrator with at least 14+ years of experience who will sustain and provide future solutions and resolutions for the established Electronic Warfare Data System (EWDS) database at Naval Base Point Mugu, CA. Salary

The typical annual salary range for this position is $120,000 USD to $155,000.00 USD. Salary will be based on current qualifications, directly related experience, geographic location, and possible contractual requirements which could fall outside of this range. 

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a high level of knowledge and experience in database management systems, standards, requirements, guidelines, and quality assurance for database deliverables such as transactions and backups
  • Demonstrate experience with conceptual design and architecture of databases, capacity planning, external data interface specification, data loading plan, data maintenance plan, and security policy
  • Demonstrate an expert degree of experience in SQL, SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), PostgreSQL, and pgAdmin is required.
  • Demonstrate monitoring, analyzing, configuring, testing, and reporting database conditions to ensure successful database development and maintenance associated with the following
  • Developing new databases, as required, and updating existing databases; heavy SQL and PostgreSQL use
  • Developing quality assurance checks and exercises to test readiness responses and communication channels
  • Responding to customers and users for assistance in database integration and development
  • Translating client’s business requirements into a logical model that will accurately support and represent the client's entity relationship and flow of data.
  • Developing appropriate database frameworks to convert logical models into physical models including the creation and maintenance of schemas containing tables, columns, views, functions, and stored procedures; and making recommendations to maximize operating efficiency, support storage requirements, vendor software updates, enforce data governance, and ensure recovery is maintained
  • Familiarity with database and software development technologies such as SQL, SSMS, PostgreSQL, pgAdmin, C#, Java, Microsoft Visual Studio, and Agile Software Development practices
  • Participation in quality assurance processes

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 14 years of experience performing the duties described in the job description and responsibilities
  • Experience and/or service integration services with at least 4 years' experience on a program that provides infrastructure services including compute, storage database, transport, enterprise management and/or desktop services
  • Experience with database technologies including Postgres, SQL Server, MySQL
  • Excellent data evaluation skills and use of tools like MS Excel or Tableau
  • Ability to manage priorities across multiple projects and actively multi-task
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Desired Skills:

  • Prior experience working with or within the Intelligence Community or military intelligence
  • Experience as a Data Scientist, Data Engineer, Data Analyst or Quality Analyst
  • Experience with or understanding of various programming/scripting languages such as C#, Java, and or Python

 

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of fourteen (14) years of experience; or a Master’s degree and twelve (12) years of experience; years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

Clearance:

Condition of employment – must have an active DoD Secret Clearance. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Must be eligible to receive a DoD Top Secret clearance.

Citizenship:

Must be a US citizen at time of application.
