Overview

BAI, a Defense contractor, is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as an Electronic Warfare (EW) Systems Capability Team Lead  with 3-10 years of experience to work with the F-35 Integrated Product Team (IPT) at NAVAIR Weapons Division, onsite at Point Mugu Naval Air Station in Camarillo, CA. Salary

The typical annual salary range for this position is $100,000.00 USD to $150,000.00 USD. Salary will be based on current qualifications, directly related experience, geographic location, and possible contractual requirements which could fall outside of this range.

Responsibilities

  • The major responsibilities include the leadership of a multi-disciplinary team of program office personnel in the identification of system requirements; providing clear and unambiguous requirements trace from government artifacts to the platform prime contractor & Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) artifacts.  These requirements will need occasional correction and must trace into the designs for F-35 EW systems along with the test and evaluation and analysis of system performance.
  • Interact with OEM engineering leadership reviewing and commenting on technical artifacts, providing technical input to the OEM project execution, while providing awareness to Joint Program Office leadership
  • Provide oversight of OEM testing and verification of contracted F-35 EW capabilities
  • As an integral part of the test, provide oversight of test planning, obtaining test resources required, and participate in test conduct
  • Review and provide corrections to the test report in accordance with Joint Program Office policy
  • Document any defect found during testing independently and separately from the OEM using government information technology networks and resources
  • At the end of each test segment/period, review and provide comments on configuration change requests to the EW IPT lead prior to an Engineering Review Board (ERB)
  • Write and update intermediate and final technical documents including system requirements and design specifications/documents, white papers, and engineering notes
  • Lead project related meetings (milestone reviews, status, design, etc.), and both host and conduct technical meetings and teleconferences
  • Up to 50% of the work may be at alternate sites – requiring travel

Qualifications

  • Between 3 and 10 years’ experience performing the duties described in the functional description
  • 3+ years’ experience developing and executing test plans
  • 3+ years’ experience writing and updating system requirements and design specifications/documents, white papers, and engineering notes
  • Ability to work independently, in a team environment, or lead a small team
  • Working knowledge and use of Microsoft Office suite programs, MS Project, MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills—Verbal, non-verbal, written, and listening—for staff, customer, and organizational level communications, both formal and informal

Education:

BS or BA degree in Engineering or a relevant technical discipline.

Clearance:

Condition of employment - must have and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
