Overview

BAI, a Defense contractor, is seeking a qualified candidates to serve as a Software Cybersecurity Subject Matter Expert (SME) with 7+ years of experience for a U.S. Navy program to work onsite at Point Mugu Naval Air Station in Camarillo, CA.

Salary

The typical annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 USD to $120,000.00 USD. Salary will be based on current qualifications, directly related experience, geographic location, and possible contractual requirements which could fall outside of this range.

Responsibilities

The candidate will be responsible for:

  • Implementing STIGs to enhance security for software, hardware, and physical and logical architectures to reduce vulnerabilities
  • Hardening systems to eliminate security risks
  • Integrating container security testing to decrease surface susceptibility
  • Performing analysis and testing to verify the strengths and weaknesses of product security in various environments utilizing commercial and open source security testing tools
  • Appling advanced cybersecurity techniques to ground-based networks and/or airborne systems
  • Performing research and leading teams when necessary in the areas of software, hardware and cloud security
  • Communicating technical application security concepts to team members, including developers, architects, and managers
  • Staying up-to-date with trends in the information security community including new vulnerabilities, methodologies, and products

Qualifications

Knowledge / Experience

Proficient with one or more programming languages including but not limited to C/C++, Python, Java

4+ years of experience in software development

7+ years in applications security, cloud technologies/security, network security, embedded systems security reverse engineering or malware analysis, and secure development life cycle

Familiar with security testing techniques such as threat modeling, network discovery, port and service identification, vulnerability scanning, network sniffing, penetration testing, configuration reviews, wireless penetration testing, fuzzing, and password cracking and can perform these techniques from a variety of adversarial perspectives (white-, grey-, black-box)

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineer, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or a related field

Meet current DoD 8570.01M training requirements

Two or more Information Security and cloud certifications, (e.g., GIAC, CISSP, CCSP, AWS, Azure, or GCP certification)

Clearance

Condition of employment – The applicant must have and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.  Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Existing SSBI or TS preferred.

Citizenship

The applicant must have US citizenship at time of application.
