Cloud Engineer

Brandes Associates Inc. (BAI), a Defense contractor seeks Cloud Engineers with 2-5 years of experience for classified programs, working onsite at Point Mugu Naval Air Station in Camarillo, CA.

Salary

$115,000 USD to $170,000.00 USD is the typical annual salary range for this position. Salary will be based on current qualifications, directly related experience, geographic location, and possible contractual requirements which could fall outside of this range.

• Responsible for developing a Cloud Migration Strategy, migrating from on-premises infrastructure to the cloud, and managing the cloud based infrastructure and data
• Proven experience transforming IT infrastructure and moving the customer’s organization toward a mature cloud-based (AWS or Azure) service delivery model.
• Defining migration goals
• Establishing success criteria
• Choosing or being provided a cloud provider
• Selecting automation tools
• Developing the migration strategy
• Preparing a backup system
• Executing the migration / Deployment, configuring, and managing cloud operations/services

• Assist with operationalizing deployments and support of cloud services for customer operations

• This includes standardizing and automating processes and workflows, creating documentation/knowledge articles, and assisting operations staff who have limited experience in cloud analysis, testing, troubleshooting, and evaluating existing local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and Internet systems, or a segment of a network system

• Providing training
• Managing manufacturer warranties
• Maintaining accurate IT asset spreadsheets that track and account for the organization’s

Knowledge / Experience

• 2-5 years System Administration experience
• Proven experience working with DoD directives and guidelines
• Experience managing the accountability of IT assets
• Experience handing classified and sensitive information in accordance with DoD classification guidelines
• Openly and confidently be able to communication with senior government Civilians and contractor staff

Education: BS or BA degree in a Computer or Information Science field or a relevant technical discipline

ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: An additional 6 years of relevant work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree, or 4 additional years of work experience with a relevant Associate’s Degree

Clearance: Condition of employment – must have an active DoD Secret Clearance. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Must be eligible to receive a DoD Top Secret clearance
