Overview

Our current Product Support Engineer is ready to take the next step in their career with AET, so we are opening the door and looking for a candidate ready to take the next step in their own career.

The Product Support Engineer works directly on-site supporting the mission and acts as the Tier III technical support for all AET products on-site. The PSE is the primary interface between our customers’ operational teams and AET’s support and development team. Are you able to conduct root cause analysis and determine not only where but why issues may arise? Do you enjoy working in both Linux and Windows environments? Are you ready to work with not only servers, but Java applications, Databases, Web Sockets and APIs? We are looking for you!

The PSE will be on site at government installations during normal business hours to provide systems support and will be intimately familiar with all architecture and systems software requirements for AET's software. When needed, the customer can call after hours for critical support.

Responsibilities

  • Install, update, configure, administer, troubleshoot, and monitor multiple Linux and Windows virtual machine servers running open-source and custom Java applications
  • Work directly with software engineers who develop and design the products as needed, to fix product bugs or other issues that may need additional support
  • Research, test, or verify proper functioning of software patches and fixes for suitability prior to deploying them in a production environment
  • Implement and manage configuration management practices that align with the customer’s enterprise
  • Perform on site backup and recovery operations to include disaster recovery
  • Provide direct knowledge of customer requirements and ensure that all requirements are being documented and relayed correctly
  • Collaborate with engineers and software developers to vet design solutions and ensure the compatibility of system components with the customer’s environment
  • Conduct advanced technical troubleshooting to determine what component is failing
  • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for uncommon or recurring issues
  • Provide weekly status reports on project status, schedule, and issues encountered

Qualifications

  • All candidates must be U.S. citizens and have at a minimum a TS/SCI with the ability to complete a FSP
  • Three (3) years of relevant work experience in a customer facing role as a system integrator, system administrator, or system engineer
