Brandes Associates Inc. is seeking qualified individuals with 3 and 10 years’ financial management experience in support of Department of Defense (DoD) programs. Work will be conducted at Naval Base Ventura County Point Mugu.   • Serves as an interface and point of contact with Contractors and Government program authorities on financial, resource, and administrative issues.
  • Perform financial analysis of programs/projects, and develop cost estimates and program status reports.
  • Manage multiple Domestic and Foreign Military Sales funding lines, constantly analyzing data to ensure there are no cost increase or budget overruns.
  • Compile, and summarize financial data.
  • Develop detailed Task Order spend plans, issue Charge Objects, and activate and deactivate tasks to meet program/project goals and commitments.
  • Provide data, information and recommendations concerning workload and funding forecasts.
  • Conduct budget planning and related execution tasks, analyze various program requirements, and make recommendations on the allocation and execution of funds.
  • Review Contractor provided weekly financial Quick View Reports, and attend monthly financial presentations.
  • Develop alternative course of action to correct and/or adjust projects trends.
  • Formulate budget and estimates to support plans, programs, and activities.
  • Prepare supplemental budget documentation, including mid-year requests, reprogramming requests, white and issue papers, and spreadsheets for the management of acquisition, business and infrastructure programs and events.
  • Recoup unliquidated obligations in a timely manner after funds expiration and prior to cancellation.
  • Track execution in all appropriations and prepare impact statements, explanations, and remedial plans for senior management when obligations and expenditures vary from promulgated phasing plans.
  • Working at the customer's site with government personnel to ensure program success.


  • Experience performing the duties described in the functional description. 
  • 3 and 10 years’ financial management experience, two (2) of which must be within the Department of Defense (DoD).
  • Knowledge of DoD Federal Management Regulations (FMR), Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation (DFAR), and Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process.
  • Knowledge of Department of the Navy procurement policies and procedures.
  • Highly skilled in the use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Familiar with the use of an Access database.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills—verbal, non-verbal, and written.
  • Ability to work independently, and a self-starter.



BS or BA degree in Business Administration, Finance, or other relevant discipline.


An additional 6 years of relevant work experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree, or 4 additional years of work experience with a relevant associate degree.


SECRET - Active Interim SECRET or SECRET DoD clearance at time of application.


Must be a US citizen at time of application.
