Overview

Brandes Associates Inc. is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as a  Systems Engineer Project Lead for a Department of Defense (DoD) program at Camarillo/Point Mugu CA. Responsibilities

  • Apply Systems Engineering knowledge to develop requirements, write specifications, and conduct research and trade studies to validate requirements to support Naval acquisition programs.
  • As Systems Engineering Project Lead
    • Oversee the planning, design, and implementation of system engineering projects.
    • Monitor, confront risk, and manage the technical baseline of products under development.
  • Apply knowledge of Electronic Warfare (EW) systems designed and built for use on air platforms; and air platform Radio Frequency (RF) principles, to include system and subsystem-level analysis methodologies – while working in a test lab environment.
  • Support Operational Flight Program (OFP) software testing at all levels (unit, suite integration, ground, and flight).
  • Coordinate Mission Data File (MDF) development.
  • Interface with stakeholders and work on a collaborative team to design or improve EW technology on US Navy airborne platforms.
  • Use MS Project as the primary tool to plan and manage schedules, budgets, and apply earned value management (EVM).
  • Working at the customer's site with government personnel to ensure program success.

Qualifications

  • Between 3 and 10 years of experience performing the duties described in the functional description.
  • Experience with airborne Electronic Warfare (EW) and Radio Frequency (RF) systems is a plus.
  • Software-related experience with Visual Studio to program in C++ and C#; and IntelliJ for programming in Java is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programs is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills—verbal, non-verbal, written, and listening—for staff, customer and organizational level communications, both formal and informal.
  • Experience applying EVM to measure project performance (planned and actual) is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently or lead a small team; self-starter.
  • Working knowledge and use of Microsoft Office suite programs, MS Project, MS Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.

Education:

BS or BA degree in Engineering, or a relevant technical discipline.

 

Clearance:

Condition of employment - must have and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.  Existing SSBI or TS preferred. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

 

Citizenship:

The applicant must have US citizenship at time of application.
